Anthony Veluz: Lead Mentor on National Citizen's Service - July 2015
'' I first heard about Sarah's work when at the Social Action event speaking to some of the staff and they mentioned her watercolour session she ran in the first week of Social Action and got a lot of positive feedback from residents, staff and the residents' families. I then saw for myself when I had a go when I saw her group and I was really impressed and we got speaking about her art work and projects and she gave me her business card. I chose Sarah because the idea for a Thomas the Tank painting literally just popped into my head not long after I saw her group on a Social Action charity fun day. I remember how good Sarah's watercolour session was so just chose her as I thought she would do a good job and I don't really have many art contacts so it just made sense to ask. I liked the initial roughs but the finished outcome blew me away. I loved the detail and accuracy, not only of Thomas but the scenery also, it was really beautiful."
Lino Printing workshop for beginners at Bluebird Art Shop - 21st October 2015
''I found the collage effect most useful and felt there was sufficient time allowed in the day. I thoroughly enjoyed the session which encouraged me to try this at home. The versatility of lino printing was very well explained, collage, over-painting included. Very good fun with good results!'' - Margaret G
''I found carving most useful and printing repeatedly easy to do once my print was carved. I would like to have spent more time on lots more things! I really enjoyed learning a new skill with surprising results. I would recommend this course to family and friends.'' - Rachel M
Watercolour Session at Fosse House Care home - 7th November 2015
''I found that painting with water to create shape and technique worked well. I would love to do another session soon.''
''Lots of time and patience given. I especially enjoyed learning about the effects of the water. I enjoyed the whole experience and the tutor was delightful''.
Watercolour Workshop for beginners at Bluebird Art Shop - 25th November 2015
''The step by step guidance was useful, good to try my hand at different themes as each one gave opportunity for different skills and techniques. It was nice to have materials provided, especially brushes!'' Tracey S
''I found colour mixing and brush technique most useful. Sarah was very helpful and approachable''. Paula S
'' The objectives were explained at the start. I found seascapes and tree technique most useful - it was helpful to attempt more than one painting in a day. Sarah was good at the demonstrations, helpful and looked after us well. I felt workshop was excellent in giving confidence rather than 'pushing' a certain technique.'' Jacquie H
